The work behind TruAlchemy.

I founded TruAlchemy Productions on a single conviction: that identity is constructed, contested, and reconstructed, and that the work of rebuilding is real, learnable, and worth doing well. It's the thread running through everything I make, the books, the workshops, the research, and the counsel I offer organizations. Whether I'm working with one person or an entire institution, the question is the same: what does it take to honor where you've been, accept where you are, and choose what you want to become?

My approach refuses two easy paths. It refuses the clinical model that reduces people to diagnoses and deficits, and it refuses the empty optimism that asks you to affirm your way past real pain. Instead, I draw on neuroscience, psychology, mindfulness, and the power of telling a truer story, meeting people where they actually are and building forward from there. This is grounded work. It takes accountability seriously, it takes evidence seriously, and it takes human dignity as a starting point rather than a reward.

What grounds the work

I come to this as a writer, a researcher, and a practitioner. As an author, I wrote TruResilience and its companion workbook to put the tools of rebuilding into anyone's hands. As a researcher, I study restorative justice, reentry, gender-responsive approaches, and the case for centering lived experience as a genuine source of knowledge, not decoration. And as a facilitator and advocate, I bring that same work into classrooms, conferences, and organizations doing the difficult, necessary work of change.
